Why This Site Exists
Illinois makes many jail, arrest, court, and corrections records available through public systems, but the records are not kept in one place. A county sheriff controls local jail bookings. The Illinois Department of Corrections controls state prison custody. BOP controls federal prisoners. ICE controls civil immigration detention lookup. Circuit clerks and court portals control court records after an arrest. This site is built as a statewide routing resource for those separate systems.
What Is Included
The Illinois pages focus on custody lookup, inmate population context, booking records, mugshots, court records after arrest, county routing, and facility routing.
- Statewide help for Illinois inmate records, jail rosters and mugshots, and court records after arrest.
- A full Illinois county directory with county subdomain placeholder links.
- A statewide facility directory covering county jails, state prisons, juvenile facilities, federal institutions, and support facilities identified in the research.
- A dedicated IDOC inmate population page for Illinois state prison lookup and population data.
What This Site Cannot Do
Illinois Inmate Population is privately run. It is not affiliated with any Illinois sheriff's office, jail, court, police department, IDOC, BOP, ICE, or other government agency.
- It cannot release, hold, transfer, or move anyone in custody.
- It cannot post bond, schedule visits, send funds, or change jail records.
- It cannot give legal advice or interpret a sentence for a specific person.
- It cannot guarantee that every public portal, roster, phone number, fee, or record field is current.
Only the agency that controls the record can confirm current custody, charges, release, sentence, or official copies.
Search Partners
Some pages include public-record search boxes or sponsored tools operated by third-party providers. Those providers may set their own prices, signup terms, and result rules. If a user chooses a paid partner tool, this site may receive a referral fee. That support helps keep the free Illinois routing pages available, but it does not give this site control over partner pricing, coverage, or results.
